- W2051862997 abstract "A method which combined the principles of the window technique and the double emulsion radioautographic study of14 C- and3 H-labeled cells was developed to study DNA synthesis of mouse leukemic cells as they passed through the S period. With this method, it was shown that the radiation caused a depression of DNA synthesis followed by the recovery of DNA synthesis to a rate that was faster than that of nonirradiated cells. The irradiated cells were able to synthesize more DNA than the nonirradiated control cells. A DNA degradation process similar to that in bacteria was not detected in the lethally irradiated cells.
