- W2052645496 abstract "The linewidths of Brillouin components involving lower-branch A-exciton polaritons in the resonant-Brillouin-scattering spectra of CdS in a weak magnetic field have been investigated. Line narrowing, broadening, and splitting of the Stokes LA 2-2' Brillouin components were observed near a laser frequency of ensuremath{omega}ifmmode tilde{}else ~{}fi{}ensuremath{approxeq}ensuremath{omega}${ifmmode tilde{}else ~{}fi{}}_{mathrm{cr}}$ (20 594.0 ${mathrm{cm}}^{mathrm{ensuremath{-}}1}$) due to the cancellation or enhancement of the k-linear mixing of the ${ensuremath{Gamma}}_{5T}$(A)-polariton and ${ensuremath{Gamma}}_{6}$(A)-exciton states by appropriate magnetic fields. Significant differences between the linewidths observed with oppositely oriented magnetic fields provide the first direct evidence for the k-linear interaction of the A exciton in CdS which was proposed in our previous publication on the frequency-dependent damping constant of exciton-polaritons." @default.
