Neben Iminium- und Ammoniumsalz (5, 6) entsteht ein Aminal-Schwefeldioxid-Addukt (17), das bei der Hydrolyse neben Dimethylaminomethansulfonsäure (19) Dimethylammoniumhydrogensulfit (18) bildet. Aminal Cleavage Reactions with Aliphatic Sulfonyl Chlorides In contrast to aromatic sulfonyl chlorides which effect cleavage of aminales exclusively under formation of iminium salts and sulfonamides, reactions with methane-, phenylmethane- as well as 2-propane-sulfonyl chloride (1a, b, c) can also proceed via sulfene intermediates. In addition to an iminium and ammonium chloride (5, 6) and the sulfonamide 4 also derivatives of the 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid (8, 14) and α-chloroalkanesulfinic acid (13) are obtained. The 1,1-dimethylethanesulfonyl chloride (15) is effective exclusively as a hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide donator to the aminal 2. In addition to the iminium and ammonium salts (5, 6) the formation of an aminal-sulfurdioxide adduct takes place, which can be hydrolized to dimethylaminomethanesulfonic acid (19) and dimethylammonium hydrogensulfite (18)." @default.
