The results show the formation of sharp Fe/NaCl interfaces and the enhancement of the interface iron magnetic moment (MFe=2.96 μB). The spin-dependent transport properties in current-perpendicular-to-plane configuration were calculated by means of the transmission matrix formulation of Kubo–Landauer formalism. The main contribution to the conductance in the ferromagnetic state is given by minority-spin electrons. The tunneling magnetoresistance rapidly increases with increasing NaCl barrier width." @default.
