- W2057967513 abstract "Alkaline phosphatase activity was studied at the ultrastructural level in late cap-stage enamel organs from human embryos aged approx. 10–12 weeks. Enzyme activity was localized to the cell membranes and to some microvesicles immediately below the cell membrane, and was most intense in the developing stellate reticulum. The cells in the region of the future stratum intermedium, and the adjacent portions of the internal enamel epithelium cells, were devoid of enzyme reaction. Slight alkaline phosphatase activity was demonstrated at the ends of the internal enamel epithelium cells next to the basal lamina. @default.
