The design process starts by establishing the overall dimensions of the impeller using a one dimensional treatment. This is then followed by an evaluation procedure of the detailed geometry based on a prescribed diffusion schedule. The detailed geometry calculation (including the optimization process) is based on employing simple models that incorporate the basic physics of flow. These were then patched up together to form a total design package. The proposed design procedure is highly economical and is also capable of achieving quite acceptable degrees of accuracy when compared with more elaborate current design approaches." @default.
