- W2058642170 abstract "Abstract Time-trend clinicopathological findings of breast cancer were studied to observe whether breast cancer rates in Japan are changing. The material analyzed consisted of 2965 breast cancer cases, mastectomized at the Cancer Institute Hospital, Tokyo, during the past 30 years, from 1946 to 1976. Various clinicopathological aspects such as age, histological type, tumor size, node metastasis, and survival rates are not changing markedly; however, small but important changes that can be pointed out are an increase in lobular carcinoma and a slight increase in the frequency of common-type breast cancer in women in their early 40's over the past 15 years. It is suggested that these changes in breast cancer are probably due to the effect of diet as a promotor, since dietary conditions in Japan have improved greatly during the past 15 years." @default.
