- W2059897367 abstract "The spatial frequency content of tilted beam electron micrographs is described by image transfer theory using the envelope function representation to describe the influence of chromatic defocus fluctuations and of finite source size. The imaging is identical if suitable envelope functions are imagined to operate in the back focal plane of the electron microscope objective lens. The pronounced directional fringes observed in experimental images of amorphous objects are well explained by the spatial frequency filtering effects of the fictive coherent imaging aperture formed by the envelope functions. A simple recipe allows the selective filtering to be estimated from the microscope characteristics. La théorie de transfert permet de décrire les images obtenues en microscopie électronique avec un faisceau incliné. Les perturbations apportées à l'image par les instabilités chromatiques et par les dimensions de la source d'électrons peuvent ětre décrites par des “fonctions enveloppes” multipliant les fonctions de transfert idéales. Les images peuvent également ětre décrites d'une façon formelle en supposant que dans le plan focal de la lentille objectif du microscope électronique l'amplitude spectrale de l'objet est atténuée par un certain facteur multiplicatif. Les functions enveloppes jouent le rǒle de ce diaphragme fictif laissant passer certaines fréquences spatiales. Cet effet de filtrage permet de bien décrire les alignements de franges observés dans des images d'objets amorphes. Il est aisé d'estimer la sélectivité du filtrage à partir des charactéristiques optiques du microscope électronique." @default.
