Candida antarctica lipase catalyzed the polymerization under mild reaction conditions, despite the heterogeneous mixture of the monomers and catalyst. Effects of the polymerization conditions were systematically investigated in the polymerization of sebacic acid and 1,4-butanediol. Methylene chain length of the monomers greatly affected the polymer yield and molecular weight. The polymer with molecular weight of more than 1×104 was obtained by the reaction under reduced pressure. The addition of a small amount of adjuvant afforded the polymer from the solid monomers." @default.
