Over a wide range of temperature the overpotential ν of the carbon anode is related to the polarizing current I by the relation ν = RI, R being the resistance of the melt and the gas film on the surface of the electrode. The addition of an indifferent salt, e.g. K2SO4, to the eutectic results in setting up of concentration polarization and an increase in the resistance term of the above relation. Dans un intervalle de température étendu la surtension de l'anode de carbone est reliée au courant de polarisation par la relation ν = RI, où R est la résistance du métal et du film de gaz formé sur l'électrode. L'addition au mélange eutectique d'un sel indifférent tel que K2SO4 provoque l'apparition d'une surtension de concentration et une augmentation de la résistance dans l'équation donnée ci-dessus. Man beschreibt die Massnahmen zur Herstellung eines trockenen LiCl-KCl-Eutektikums, das zur Messung der Chlorüberspannung an Kohle-Anoden geeignet ist. Ueber einen weiten Temperaturbereich ist die Ueberspannung ν der Kohle-Anode mit dem polarisierenden Strom I durch die Bezichung ν = R · I verbunden, wobei R den Widerstand der Schmelze und der Gashaut auf der Elektrodenoberfläche darstellt. Die Beigabe eines indifferenten Salzes, wie z.B. K2SO4, zur eutektischen Schmelze führt zum Einsetzen von Konzentrationspolarisation und zur Erhöhung des Widerstands-Terms in der oben erwähnten Beziehung." @default.
