Sublingual nitroglycerin has also been used for the management of pulmonary oedema, and a comparative study of intravenous isosorbide dinitrate with furosemide has shown a better haemodynamic profile with nitrates in the management of acute heart failure occurring after infarction. Although buccal nitroglycerin ointment may have a prompt effect on left ventricular function, proper dose regulation may be difficult. Buccal-release nitroglycerin tablets which produce both rapid and sustained release of nitroglycerin are now available (2). We report here...References1. SHAH P.
