A mass-dependent parametrization of the $Kensuremath{pi}$ partial wave yields one and only one strange scalar meson, the $ensuremath{kappa}(1510)$, with a width of several hundred MeV. Isoscalar ${mathrm{O}}^{++}$ mesons found in simultaneous fits to $Koverline{K}$ and $ensuremath{pi}ensuremath{pi}$ data are the $ensuremath{epsilon}(800)$, ${S}^{*}(1005)$, and ${ensuremath{epsilon}}^{ensuremath{'}}(1540)$ with widths of about 1000, 8, and 200 MeV, respectively. No simple interpretation of all these states and the $ensuremath{delta}(980)$ and possible ${ensuremath{delta}}^{ensuremath{'}}(1300)$ as $qoverline{q}$ mesons, $qoverline{q}qoverline{q}$ bound states, or gluon-gluon bound states exists. Possible candidates for an SU(3) nonet of $qoverline{q}$ states are found to be (a) $ensuremath{epsilon}(800)$, ${ensuremath{epsilon}}^{ensuremath{'}}(1540)$, $ensuremath{sigma}(980)$, and $ensuremath{kappa}(1540)$ or (b) ${S}^{*}(1005)$, ${ensuremath{epsilon}}^{ensuremath{'}}(1540)$, ${ensuremath{sigma}}^{ensuremath{'}}(1300)$, and $ensuremath{kappa}(1540)$." @default.
