In cyclohexane—TEA, however, the exciplex is produced, indicating its slow decomposition into DBA− and TEA+ compared with that in acetonitrile—TEA. This is consistent with the result obtained by steady-state photolysis of DBA in the presence of 0.04 M TEA, i.e. the rate of debromination (yielding 9-bromoanthracene) in cyclohexane is ≈ 1.5 × 10−2 times slower than that in acetonitrile." @default.
