- W2066382579 abstract "It is well known that standard perturbation theory of weak interchain single electron hopping ( t⊥ ) mechanism in quasi-1D conductors leads to an effective interchain particle pair tunneling process (exchange or Josephson) only in the presence of a non zero 1D charge ( Δϱ ) or spin ( Δσ ) correlation gap. For the gapless case, ( Δϱ=Δσ=0 ), we have used a perturbative renormalization group approach to show that t⊥ is not the only relevant interchain mechanism for the transverse propagation of correlations. It is demonstrated that before the occurrence of the one-particle dimensionality crossover temperature ( T >TX1 ) effective interchain pair tunneling processes are generated via t⊥ and 1D electronic correlations. These can in turn induce phase transitions at finite temperature for both electron-hole (e.g. spin or charge modulations) and the Cooper (superconductivity) channels of correlations. The possible impact of these results for (TMTTF)2X and (TMSTF)2X type of organic compounds is discussed." @default.
