Then, in analogy to a previous asymptotic analysis for methane flames the basic structure for propane flames is derived and a two-equation algebraic expression for the inner layer temperature T 0 and the burning velocity s F is presented. The sensitivity of s F to changes of the burnt gas temperature is analysed in order to identify an effective overall activation energy. The two-equation expression serves as a guide-line for an approximation of the burning velocity of lean propane flames for different pressures and preheat temperatures. The basic structure also serves to explain the lean burning limit in terms of heat loss by radiative emission in the optically thin gas limit." @default.
