The effect of annealing on polymeric materials is also an area worth looking at. An attempt to set an empirical correlation of the annealing temperatures with the dynamic stress intensity factor K D is presented as a model for further development of more correlation for PMMA. It could be deduced from the derived formula for casted type PMMA that 90°C is recommended temperature for annealing to obtain maximum K D and 85°C for extruded type. It is also concluded that 55°C and 50°C should be avoided when annealing of PMMA casted and extruded types, respectively, because they result in minimum values of K D." @default.
