HCO−3 and CO2−3 have not yet been detected in inclusions studied by the Raman microprobe. For the cation-chloride systems, the Raman microprobe MOLE is a powerful tool for determining the stoichiometric hydrates that form under cooling. Raman spectra are given for the stoichiometric hydrates of most geological interests: NaCl · 2H2O, CaCl2 · 6H2O, MgCl2 · 6H2O, MgCl2 · 12H2O, FeCl3·6H2O and KCl·MgCl2·6H2O. With these reference spectra it is shown that it is possible to identify hydrates formed in natural fluid inclusions." @default.
