- W2069431682 abstract "Abstract This paper focuses on the treaty rights debate in Northern Wisconsin to discover the type of transaction and the agents of change. The community can best be defined as a very specific type of third culture; that is, a heterogeneous mid-level moral community: a community comprised of several ethnic groups related by mediated communications as well as face-to-face communication. In this community, the agents of change are those who actively reach across political/relational boundaries creating either defensive or supportive communication patterns. This study indicates that (a) we must pay close attention to the relationship between culture and politics in each particular situation, and (b) we need to look not only at the constraints on intercultural communication but also at the process of third culture building." @default.
