- W2071569201 abstract "We have measured the emission spectrum of a layer-type semiconductor, red-Hg${mathrm{I}}_{2}$ in the direct-exciton region and have found a continuous change from the resonant Raman scattering to the ordinary luminescence spectrum as the incident-photon energy is scanned from below to above the direct-exciton edge. A free exciton in the dispersive region is found to be scattered by a longitudinal-optical photon with $E$ symmetry. This fact is considered to originate from a characteristic of the two-dimensional dispersion of the $E$ mode. The incident-photon energy dependence of the Raman-cross-section is well explained in accordance with a sum rule which holds for various orders of the Raman scattering." @default.
