We investigate the sensitivity of the Riska-Brown calculation to the short-range behavior of the two-nucleon interaction by using unitary-equivalent transformations employed by the authors in an earlier study of the parity-violating circular polarization ${P}_{ensuremath{gamma}}$ in the same reaction. We find that some of the transformations, in fact those providing the greatest enhancement of ${P}_{ensuremath{gamma}}$, give exchange-current corrections in serious disagreement with the results of Riska and Brown.
