The ocular manifestations of the disease may be divided into three categories: (1) involvement of glandular tissue (dacryoadenitis); (2) involvement of nerve tissue (optic neuritis, nystagmus, paralysis of extraocular muscles, paralysis of accommodation), and (3) involvement of ocular tissues proper (conjunctivitis, keratitis, scleritis, anterior uveitis, choroiditis).
