- W2076226815 abstract "Congenital absence of the spleen and left kidney is an extremely rare anomaly. While cases of congenital absence of the spleen1alone or of one kidney alone have been reported, no report has been found of the absence of both organs. Therefore, this case is reported. <h3>REPORT OF CASE</h3><h3>History.</h3> —H. L., a boy, aged 8 months, was presented because of failure to gain weight. The mother was 29 years of age. Her father died of carcinoma of the pancreas. The rest of the family history was unimportant. The patient's father was 30 years of age. There was one sister, aged 4 years, who was normal. The patient was a full term infant of a normal delivery after an uneventful pregnancy. The birth weight was 7 pounds (3,175 Gm.) and the infant was considered normal. He was breast fed for six months, but, after six weeks, required supplementary feedings." @default.
