- W2076582093 abstract "This article aims to present an empirical model for testing ethnic segregation in the context of spatial perception. The idea of the spatio-perceptual dimension is underpinned by the assumptions that spaces are socially structured and that actors in the relevant social groups have internalized those structures. Therefore, it is important to examine segregation not only from the standpoint of the choice of people's place of residence and the building of social networks, but also to examine the life spaces embedded in the consciousness of those who conduct their daily lives within them, and who see them as representing their identity. The proposed model is applied to the Arab (minority) and Jewish communities in Jaffa, Israel. In addition, it can be generalized further not only as a model of the Arab minorities in mixed Israeli cities, but also as a model of minorities anywhere in the Western world." @default.
