Additional Raman spectra data for typical GaAs/AlGaAs NWs, micro-photoluminescence spectra of uncapped sample, panchromatic cathodoluminescence mapping of different QDs in GaAs/AlGaAs nanowire, the method to achieve size and density controllable AlGaAs quantum rings, micro-PL spectra of different QDs from Series B, smallest linewidth (177μeV) of one typical GaAs QD in NW, longitudinal modes found in the 7μm nanowire cavity, as well as other cavity modes due to sharp inhomogeneity of NW.
