- W2077856503 abstract "Abstract It is known that particle concentrations in aerosol flow may be increased along particle trajectories due to inertial effects. A method for estimating the extent of the concentration enhancement based on the knowledge of particle trajectories (Lagrangian approach) was applied to the case of ideal two-dimensional stagnation point flow. Sample calculation results were found to agree well with those obtained from a regular perturbation solution for small inertia based on the two-fluid theory as proposed by Peters and Cooper (J. Colloid Interface Sci. 142, 140 (1991)). Furthermore, the Lagrangian results agree closely with a numerical solution to the two-phase flow equations of Peters and Cooper. The results were also compared with the calculations for concentration fields in ideal stagnation flow of Yuu and Jotaki (Chem. Eng. Sci. 33, 971 (1978))." @default.
