- W2078161659 abstract "Corrections for solution and double layer losses are essential when considering “wet” impedance data for insulating oxide films on aluminium. The application and implications of a suitable correction procedure are described. Corrected capacitances of oxide films are dependent upon film thickness and vary only slightly with frequency. Corrected dissipation factors of anodic films are independent of both thickness and frequency. The corrected dissipation factors of air-formed films are frequency-independent but are markedly higher than for anodic films. There is no evidence of a significant variation of resistivity through the thickness of barrier-type anodic alumina films, when corrected data are used. In general, correction procedures are more important the thinner the film, the higher the frequency and the lower the conductivity of the measuring solution." @default.
