- W2078353209 abstract "The structural relaxation of hexanetriol 1,2,6 was studied between −80 and +150 °C by use of photon correlation spectroscopy, low frequency depolarized light scattering spectroscopy, Brillouin spectroscopy, dielectric relaxation, and shear viscosity measurements. The relaxation functions and the relaxation times obtained were compared in order to obtain a consistent picture of the molecular motion. The comparison has led to a distinction between the motions following a longitudinal stress and pure reorientation. The latter is describable in terms of a segmental reorientation following a breaking of hydrogen bonds, this mechanism being essentially the same at low viscosities as well as at very high viscosities approaching the glass point." @default.
