He has published ten books. ranging in subject matter from embezzlement and organized crime to plea bargaining. One of his books, Principles of Criminology (with the late Edwin H. Sutherland, 1883-1950). is now in its tenth edition (1978). Professor Cressey has been Visiting Professor at the University of Cambridge. Hebrew University, Oslo University. and the Australian Notional University. He was the 1967 recipient of the Sutherland Award of the American Society of Criminology. and his research also has been honored by the Illinois Academy of Criminology.
