- W2078644891 abstract "Nuclear bodies have been investigated by means of ultrastructural cytochemistry. EDTA and HAPTA preferential staining methods and enzymatic digestions with pronase and RNAse provided the following results: (a) Simple nuclear bodies are found to be proteinaceous. (b) The capsule of granular nuclear bodies is proteinaceous also. (c) The central granules of some, if not all, granular nuclear bodies contain ribonucleoproteins. (d) Some nuclear bodies include clumps of chromatin which are connected with the perinucleolar chromatin. These results are compared with the already published observations and lead to the following hypothesis: simple nuclear bodies are proteinaceous corpuscles and might be constant organelles of the nucleus. Under special conditions, usually involving cell hyperactivity, their number increases, some of them are loaded with ribonucleoproteins, probably of nucleolar origin and take the aspect of granular nuclear bodies." @default.
