- W2078771440 abstract "Insurance services improve resilience to catastrophes of economic actors. Under appropriate circumstances, they are efficiently participating to non structural risk management. As for insurance industry, it represents a significant share of European GNP, with a high development potential, considering the necessity for Member States to refrain from taking the costs of damage repair. The complex equation of public private partnership (PPP) for prevention and insurance of natural catastrophes has not yet found satisfactory solution in most cases. Nevertheless some, hope is raising that cooperation initiatives between voluntary Member States, as well as European institutions and policies, may improve the situation, in their various competences with regard to:contribution to health protection, security and economic interests of citizens;encouraging cooperation between Member States, to strengthen the efficiency of prevention or protection systems against natural catastrophes: supporting and complementing Member states action, promoting operational cooperation between existing systems such as national civil protections, favour consistency of actions taken at international level. This paper invites to explore the market, institutional and policy context, then to analyze some of the tracks and means of such cooperative challenges, for more efficient PPPs in natural hazard prevention and insurance." @default.
