The effects of peritubular oncotic pressure changes upon the electrical resistance of the rat proximal tubule were studied by cable analysis of voltage attenuation experiments during normal capillary blood flow and following peritubular capillary perfusions containing varying concentrations of Dextran or albumin. Hypooncotic and hyperoncotic perfusions led to significant decreases and increases in the electrical resistance respectively. Approximately isooncotic solutions had no significant effects. Saline-loading led to a significant reduction in late proximal tubule resistance (approx. 10%), the magnitude of the effect being consistent with the effects of peritubular colloid substitution. The results support the view that oncotic pressure regulation of net proximal salt and water reabsorption is mediated by changes in the ionic permeability of the epithelium, probably via changes in the leakiness of the tight function. Effets de la pression oncotique peritubulaire sur la resistance electrique du tube proximal du rat. Les effets des modifications de la pression oncotique peritubulaire sur la resistance electrique du tube proximal du rat ont ete etudies par des experiences d'attenuation de voltage, interpretees selon le modele du cable, quand le debit sanguin dans le capillaire peritubulaire est normal et apres des perfusions capillaires contenant des concentrations variables de Dextran ou d'albumine. Les perfusions hypo et hyperoncotiques ont conduit a des diminutions et a des augmentations respectives significatives de la resistance electrique. Des solutions approximativement isooncotiques n'ont pas eu d'effets significatifs. L'expansion a determine une reduction significative (∼ 10%) de la resistance du tube proximal terminal, l'intensite de l'effet etait compatible avec les consequences de la substitution oncotique peritubulaire. Les resultats sont en faveur du fait que la regulation par la pression oncotique de la reabsorption proximale de sel et d'eau ait comme mediateur les modifications de la permeabilite ionique de l'epithelium, par l'intermediaire probable des fuites a la jonction serree." @default.
