- W2079302790 abstract "A patient with a penile lesion belonging both grossly and microscopically to the disease commonly known as sclerosing lipogranuloma of the genital organs confessed that at one time he had injected a suspension of pumice subcutaneously into his penis. This remarkable story was verified when a biopsy of the lipogranuloma proved to contain large amounts of rhombic crystals consisting of bundles of crystalline rods strongly birefringent in polarized light and closely resembling the crystal structure of pumice. In view of this finding it seems advisable to replace the term sclerosing lipogranuloma of the genital organs by the designation factitious genital sclerogranuloma. The patient suffered also from familial symmetrical lipomatosis. In our opinion the coexistence of these two diseases is fortuitous." @default.
