- W2079481963 abstract "Infra-red spectra of crystalline films of SiH4, GeH4 and GeD4 have been studied in the region of their fundamental frequencies, while films of SnH4 have been examined between 4000 and 400 cm−1. Spectra of dilute solid solutions of these hydrides in each other, and for SiH4 and GeH4 in SiF4 and SF6, have also been obtained. The gas—crystal frequency shifts run parallel to the known gas-phase intensities in the three hydrides. The spectra in silane and germane matrices show striking changes in contour when the host crystal passes through a phase transition and the relation of these to the site symmetry in the crystal and the possibility of free rotation in the high-temperature phases is discussed." @default.
