- W2079495881 abstract "We derive an effective spin-$frac{1}{2}$ exchange model for non-Kramers ${mathrm{Tb}}^{3+}$ states in the pyrochlore ${mathrm{Tb}}_{2}{mathrm{Ti}}_{2}{mathrm{O}}_{7}$. The four anisotropic nearest-neighbor exchange constants, as well as next-neighbor exchange constants, are derived for the effective model. This work goes beyond the independent tetrahedra model by considering all nearest-neighbor exchange paths on the pyrochlore lattice. Estimates of the exchange constants reveal that ${mathrm{Tb}}_{2}{mathrm{Ti}}_{2}{mathrm{O}}_{7}$ is described by a quantum spin ice Hamiltonian." @default.
