Although all known mixing data can be satisfied with minimal Higgs structure and a top quark mass as large as 280 GeV, the most probable values are 130 GeV and 160 GeV for the two classes of solutions with the CP violating phase σ in the second and first quadrants, respectively. The above numbers are lowered considerably in the presence of two Higgs doublets. A particularly simple set of mass matrices is found which has the phase structure proposed by Shin for the Fritzsch set of matrices and leads to a top quark mass of 135 GeV.
