- W2080202233 abstract "The effect of axial ligands of a pi acid character on films of zinc tetraphenylporphyrin is described. The studies used electrochemical and photoelectrochemical methods to characterize the behaviour of “doped” porphyrin films deposited on optically transparent electrodes of tin oxide. Flatband potentials are shifted by the axial ligands. Rates of the electron transfer at the electrolyte interface are somewhat increased. Photocurrents depend on film thickness in a way that may be interpreted in terms of the model which has explained behaviour of a number of organic photovoltaic assemblies. This involves variation of the quantum yield for charge separation at the tin oxide/film interface and changes in the excited state lifetimes which influence the efficiency of energy transport to the interface. Some evidence is presented for the accumulation of a steady-state concentration of porphyrin cation radical in the film." @default.
