Three Raman-active modes in the A11 orthorhombic (Cmca) phase were observed as a function of pressure to approximately 7.7 GPa, the point where black phosphorus has fully transformed to the rhombohedral (R3ifmmodebarelsetextasciimacronfi{}m) structure.
