- W2080488759 abstract "Abstract The prospects of operating rapid single flux quantum (RSFQ) circuits with high- T c superconductive materials have been studied quantitatively by means of numerical inductance computations. To enable error-free operation of such circuits at a desired operating temperature, a certain energy ratio of Josephson coupling to thermal fluctuations has to be maintained [K. Likharev, V. Semenov, IEEE Trans. Appl. Supercond. 1 (1991) 3]. This has to be accomplished by increasing the critical current of the Josephson junctions with the operation temperature. However, as the operation is essentially dependent on a fixed product of critical current and loop inductance, this will cause the necessity of a proportional decrease of the inductances. As has been pointed out earlier [K. Likharev, Czech. J. Phys. 46 (1996) 3331], not all technological approaches are well-suited for meeting these requirements. As will be illustrated in the contribution, inductance calculations for typical layout arrangements will provide insight in upper limits for the feasible operating temperature ranges." @default.
