- W2080573203 abstract "ABSTRACT: It is an important issue to suppress the spurious responseof the coplanar-waveguide (CPW) bandpass filter (BPF). In this letter, anovel CPW BPF at 1.57 GHz with spurious responses suppression forapplication in Global Positioning System is presented. By adjusting thefilter structure, the wide stopband rejection greater than 20 dB from 1.8to 4.5 GHz could be obtained away from the designed central frequencywithout increasing the circuit dimension. The designed CPW-BPF isinvestigated numerically and experimentally. Measured results show agood agreement with the simulated analysis. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals,Inc. INTRODUCTION Coplanar structures have several advantages over conventionalmicrostrips for applications in monolithic or hybrid integratedcircuit at microwave frequencies, including easy parallel andseries placing of both active and passive components and highcircuit density. Several coplanar-waveguide (CPW) bandpassfilters (BPFs) with different topologies have been proposed andinvestigated [1–5]. The ribbon-of brick-wall type CPW BPF [1]designed based on edge-coupled quarter-wavelength resonatorsmay achieve wider bandwidth and more compact size than thatusing half-wavelength resonators. However, it has a poor bandtransition at lower passband edge. The capacitively [2] andinductively [3] coupled CPW BPFs designed based on half-wavelength resonators may occupy large dimension due to thecharacteristic of distributed component. Other compact CPWBPFs using semilumped circuits were investigated [4, 5], whichintroduced the load effect to improve the goal of compact size. However, the above compact filters as the conventional distrib-" @default.
