The prepared chitosan derivative was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Ultraviolet–visible (UV) spectroscopy. The film was evaluated by XRD which confirms the crystalline morphology, thermal analysis shows thermally stable up to 275 °C, surface morphology indicates the film is relatively smooth and homogeneous, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy shows red-shifted emission and Z-scan measurement shows nonlinear absorption results. It is assumed that the chitosan derivative film as an optical material may open new perspectives in practical applications in the field of optical, biomedical and biosensing." @default.
