- W2081472912 abstract "An international endeavour, the International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP), began in 1983 with the objective to exploit the operational imaging data of meteorological satellites with respect to the information they offer on cloud fields. Several subsequent regional experiments, amongst which ICE (International Cirrus Experiment) is a European effort, are now being planned or are already being carried out to establish an in situ validation of results derived in the ISCCP, and also to provide more direct knowledge on cloud formation processes, microphysics and structures, and their relationship to radiative transfer properties. The objectives of ICE have jointly been defined by research groups from Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and from ESA. Un programme international baptisé Programme International de Climatologie des Nuages par Satellite (ISCCP), a débuté en 1983 en vue d'exploiter les données opérationelles d'imagerie des satellites météorologiques sur le plan de l'information qu'elles fournissent sur les champs de nuages. Il s'en est suivi ou s'ensuivra différentes expériences régionales, dont le programme européen ICE (Expérience Internationale Cirrus), en vue de valider sur place les résultats dérivés de ISCCP, et en vue d'améliorer la compréhension des processus de formation des nuages, de leur microphysique, de leur structure et de leurs relations avec les propriétés de transfert radiatif. Les objectifs de ICE ont été définis conjointement par des groupes de recherche d'Allemagne, France, Royaume-Uni, Suède, et de l'ESA." @default.
