- W2081474798 abstract "Recently, the advantages of application of the perturbation technique which is based on joint use of both the direct and adjoint solutions of the radiative transfer equation to solve and analyze some 1D problems of atmospheric physics has been demonstrated. In this paper this technique is applied to problems of radiative transfer through spatially inhomogeneous scattering and absorbing media. This technique is shown to allow one both to obtain the solution with reasonable accuracy and to get physical insight into the problem under consideration. The accuracy of the perturbation technique is demonstrated through comparison with results from the SHDOM simulation code for one problem of cloud optics." @default.
