The course of 14 patients followed medically will be compared with published surgical results. Diagnosis of muscular subaortic stenosis was established in all 14 patients by left heart catheterization. Age ranged from 16 to 48. Symptoms included dyspnea (nine), chest pain (five), fatigue (four), and syncope (two). Four patients were asymptomatic.
