- W2084039143 abstract "Deterministic chaotic systems sensitively respond to variations of the initial conditions. Thus, if one has no exact knowledge of the initial state of the system, limits are set to the possibility of state prediction. The transinformation I(t) is a measure of the state predictability: I(t) is the information on a future state if an initial state is known within a certain precision (t labels the prediction period). In this paper we calculate I(t), t = 0, 1, 2,..., for several chaotic systems (Bernoulli map, logistic equation, parametrically excited pendulum) using various partitions of state space. Moreover, we recall well-known relations of ergodic theory in order to discuss the uncertainty production Hc(t) = I(0) - I(t) after time t." @default.
