In the method an airborne activity is filmed with two high-speed motion-picture cameras. The films are subsequently analysed to calculate time-dependent three-dimensional coordinates of 21 body landmarks. From the coordinates a series of parameters of the filmed trial are computed. Subsequently, perturbations are introduced into the parameters defining the initial conditions of the airborne motion and/or the patterns of motion of the segments relative to the upper trunk. The resultant modified motion of the multi-segment body model is then generated by computer simulation. The period of validity of the simulated motion was estimated at approximately 0.6–0.8 sec, although this figure could vary for different activities or subjects." @default.
