- W2084736650 abstract "The thermal conductivity of RbMgF3 has been measured from 2.5 to 80 K as a function of radiation damage. When RbMgF3 is irradiated at room temperature with 1.5 MeV electrons, F centers and complementary fluorine interstitials are produced. Irradiation to an F-center concentration of 4 × 1017 cm−3 causes a reduction in the thermal conductivity at all temperatures below 25 K. No change in thermal conductivity is observed when the F centers are converted to R centers by a 673 K anneal. This result shows that the radiation-induced phonon scattering is caused by the interstitials. This additional scattering can be described by the sum of frequency-independent and point defect scattering terms. The observed increase in the frequencyindependent term is consistent with the formation of interstitial clusters during irradiation. Both contributions to the scattering grow linearly with F-center concentration.Die thermische Leitfahigkeit von RbMgF3 wird zwischen 2,5 und 80 K in Abhangigkeit von der Strahlungsschadigung gemessen. Wenn RbMgF3 bei Zimmertemperatur mit 4,5 MeV-Elektronen bestrahlt wird, werden F-Zentren und komplementare Fluor-Zwischengitterstorstellen gebildet. Bestrahlung bis zu einer F-Zentren-Konzentration von 4 × 1017 cm−3 verursacht einen Ruckgang der thermischen Leitfahigkeit fur alle Temperaturen unterhalb 25 K. Keine Anderung der thermischen Leitfahigkeit wird beobachtet, wenn die F-Zentren in R-Zentren durch eine Temperung bei 673 K umgewandelt werden. Dies zeigt, das die strahlungsinduzierte Phononenstreuung durch die Zwischengitterstorstellen hervorgerufen wird. Diese zusatzliche Streuung kann durch eine Summe von frequenzunabhangigen und durch Punktdefekt-Streuterme beschrieben werden. Die beobachtete Zunahme der frequenzunabhangigen Terme ist mit der Bildung von Zwischengitterclustern wahrend der Bestrahlung konsistent. Beide Anteile zur Streuung wachsen linear mit der F-Zentren-Konzentration." @default.
