- W2085223410 abstract "The limiting assumptions underlying several of the basic theoretical models of energy transfer between ions and molecules in solids are elucidated and it is shown that in some cases experimental data has been analyzed using a model which is outside its range of applicability. Three examples are given of data that have been interpreted using the model of Yokota and Tanimoto which lie outside the range of validity of this model. In each case, one of three other models is shown to be a valid way to fit the data. In addition, a detailed comparison is made of fitting two sets of data involving energy migration on a random lattice with a Monte Carlo simulation and with Burshtein’s model which involves an average hopping time. It is shown that the assumption of an average hopping time for an exciton migration on a random lattice leads to an error of about a factor of 2 in estimates of the critical interaction distance." @default.
