Chinese hamster V-79 cells were exposed at and above therapeutic levels of ultrasound (1 MHz, 1–30 W/cm 2 , 1–5 min) in two vessels: a polystyrene test tube (Corning) or a teflon chamber with Mylar® end windows. In the test tube, lysis was dependent upon rotation of the tube during sonication. In the chamber, no lysis occurred while it was stationary or moving horizontally across the sound field." @default.
