- W2085988969 abstract "Abstract The formalism has been developed for shell-model calculations in a good isospin basis for nuclei near closed shells with N > Z. It is shown that in addition to the active shell-model configurations a number of extra particle-hole (p-h) excitations in the neutron excess orbitals must be included to guarantee good isospin. However it is shown that this causes no considerable calculational difficulty if one utilizes the properties of isospin operators. The formalism is applied to the case of 89Y of isospins T = T 0 ± 1 2 (T0 is the isospin of the closed shell). The model space includes 1 particle (1p), 2p-1h and some 3p-2h and 4p-3h excitations from the orbitals 1 f 7 2 , 1 f 5 2 , 2 p 3 2 , 2 p 1 2 , 1 g 9 2 , 2 d 5 2 , 3 s 1 2 , 2 d 3 2 , 1 g 7 2 and 1 h 11 2 . The Hamiltonian matrix with realistic two-body interactions is constructed for all spins from 1 2 to 11 2 and both parities. By diagonalizing these large matrices the energy spectra for both isospins were obtained. Radiative widths for γ0 and γ1 dipole transitions are calculated. The results are in very good agreement with the experiment." @default.
