- W2086952511 abstract "Abstract Susceptibility tests with Egyptian body louse, Pediculus humanus corporis de Geer, against DDT and gamma‐BHC powders in Alexandria City during May, 1969, showed an LC'50 of 1.25 to 2.23% for DDT and 0.23 to 0.42% for Gamma‐BHC, thus indicating a decrease in the susceptibility carried out by the author in 1968. The LC'95 varied from 2.37 to 4.24 for DDT and 0.43 to 0.80% for Gamma‐BHC. The results indicate that at least about 10% of the lice population were resistant to DDT. The results of Gamma‐BHC show a much higher percentage (80%) of resistant lice to this insecticide. This could be explained only as being due to insecticidal pressure used in the local environment for lice sanitary measures. @default.
